Mount Snowden Challenge

Let us introduce to you, our production supervisor at Newark, Scott.

Scott has recently been appointed chairperson of Friends of Holy Trinity, who raise over £12000 a year from charity events for the local school, Holy Trinity in Newark and other charities. He is also in the RAF Regiment Reserves.

Scott’s recent event, was a trek to the top of Mount Snowdon along with a group of 28 parents. Scott and the group managed to make it all the way to the top in one day.

When asked about how the day went Scott said ” I do a lot of climbing with and with out the RAF and have been up Snowdon many times, so for me it was a fun day out. The group had a lot of varying abilities, most of them were first timers when it came to climbing mountains full stop, so for some of them it was a bit tougher. A lot of people achieved personal goals, one lady had recently had a kidney removed, and she was determined to get to the top, just to prove to herself that she was better! What an achievement! For me it was nice to see the rest of the group achieve these personal goals and enjoy the day just as much as me! The journey started of quite tricky as the weather was misty and (everyone’s favourite) raining! We went up the Snowdon ranger path as I thought this would be a good route for such a big group. When at The summit the weather did actually clear up and everyone managed to get some great photos”

The day was very successful and raised nearly £3000 for Friends of Holy Trinity and another charity ‘Sues Place’, which helps children who are affected by death, divorce or separation of someone close.

This is just one of the wonderful things Scott has taken part in for charity. Keep checking beck for more exciting stories!
